'Silhouettes in Cross Stitch' are a series of paintings based on an old book of cross stitch patterns found in a second-hand bookshop. Translating the designs into giant oil paintings is about questioning the relationship between craft and high art. The labour-intensive nature of the work is undertaken with a consideration of the marking and valuing of time. The resulting pixulated images set both craft and painting within the context of the digital image.
